Terms of Service

Short version: LuniVex is free software provided as-is. Use it to play Minecraft. Don't use it to do anything illegal. The name and logo are ours even though the code is open source.

What LuniVex is

LuniVex is a free, independent Minecraft launcher built on Modrinth's open-source Theseus codebase, licensed under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPLv3). It is provided free of charge and is not affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft.

By downloading or using LuniVex, you agree to these terms.

Using LuniVex

You are free to use LuniVex to manage and play Minecraft. You need a valid, legitimately purchased Minecraft account to play - LuniVex does not bypass or circumvent Mojang's authentication.

You agree not to use LuniVex to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Install or distribute malicious software or modified game clients designed to cheat on servers
  • Circumvent any server's terms of service

No warranty

LuniVex is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. This is standard for free, open-source software and it means:

  • We do not guarantee the launcher will work perfectly on your system
  • We are not responsible if a mod you install through LuniVex causes issues with your game or computer
  • We are not responsible for any data loss that might result from using the launcher

Mods are installed from Modrinth. Their content policies apply to what is available there. LuniVex does not vet individual mods.

Open source and the GPLv3 license

The LuniVex launcher code is available under the GPLv3 license, inherited from the Modrinth Theseus codebase it is built on. This means:

  • You can view, fork, and modify the source code
  • If you distribute a modified version, it must also be open source under GPLv3
  • You cannot distribute a modified version under a different license

The full GPLv3 license text is included in the repository.

Brand and identity

The GPLv3 license covers the code, not the brand. The LuniVex name, logo, crescent mark, and domain (lunivex.xyz) are not covered by the open source license and remain the property of the LuniVex project.

You may not distribute a fork of LuniVex using the LuniVex name, logo, or branding without permission. If you fork the project, you must use a different name and identity.

Changes to the launcher and these terms

LuniVex is in active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We will communicate significant changes through the News and Changelog pages.

These terms may be updated as the project grows. The last updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of LuniVex after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

Minecraft

Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB. LuniVex is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft.
